1.    Open tailgate and remove access cover with a Torx 40 socket. Remove left side nut that holds the door handle to the tailgate.

2.    Release left side locking rod by unlatching the plastic retainer.

3.    Insert the short wire harness with the 2 bullet plugs into the drain hole at the bottom of the tailgate. The end with waterproof connector should run behind the bumper and under the truck. Push the two bullet connector into the handle area.

4.    Insert the DynoLock bracket into the inside of the tailgate from the left side with the U shaped end towards the tailgate handle. ( Middle)

5.    Place the predrilled 1/4 hole in the Dyno~Lock bracket over the threaded door lock handle stud.   Replace nut but do not tighten yet.

6.    Align the bracket so that it is 100% perpendicular to the tailgate handle.

7.    Install the Tec screw into the tab to prevent any shifting after the installation is complete. It is best to drill a small 1/8’ pilot hole first. You may need to bend the tab up to fit.

8.    Now tighten nut. Connect wires from harness to solenoid wires. Reconnect threaded lock rod by snapping retainer into place.

9.    Connect the long harness to the short harness installed in the tailgate by pressing the 2 pin waterproof connectors together.

10.  Run the harness under the vehicle as close to the drivers side trim plate as possible Use the tie wraps to secure the harness to the frame. Be sure to avoid moving  or hot parts under the vehicle, i. e. shocks, springs or muffler parts.

11.  Remove the driver’s side trim plate and left side kick panel. ( One piece pops off)

12.  Drill a 7/16" hole in the floor under the driver’s side door trim plate and insert the enclosed grommet.  Run the harness thru the grommet.

13.  2002 & 2003 only, locate the Tan/Pink ( lock) and the Blue (unlock) wires under the dash by the parking brake pedal. 2004 & up, locate the Brown/Orange and the Lime Green.

14.  Attach the 2 blue wire taps to each wire. Wrap the blue wire taps around each wire and squeeze close with pliers. Push the 2 pink male spade connectors attached to the end of the harness into the blue taps.

15.  Lock the doors with the drivers side lock switch. If the tailgate locks and the doors unlock, at the same time, reverse the wires. Replace trim plate / kick panel / tailgate access panel and the installation is complete
