CFS88C Installation Instructions

1988-1998Chevy/GMC Full Size & 1999 2500 & 3500 series

1.    Remove plastic trim bezel around the handle by placing the tips of you fingers at the top of the bezel and then the bottom to pull off.

2.    Tie string or wire to each end of the lock rod that connects to each side of the handle. This prevents the rod from falling inside the tailgate Disconnect the 2 retainer clips that hold the rods to the handle.

3.    Remove the 3 screws on the back side of the tailgate with a Torx 40 socket.

4.    Extract the handle from the tailgate.

5.    Insert the short wire harness with the 2 bullet plugs into the drain hole at the bottom of the tailgate. The end with the waterproof connector should run behind the bumper and under the truck. Push the wire with the 2 bullet connectors into the tailgate until it can be pulled through to the handle opening.

6.    Insert the DynoLock with the solenoid first. The solenoid stay’s on the left side (driver’s) and the bracket end with 3 holes on the right side.( passenger) It really does fit.

7.    Place the factory handle on top of the Dynolock bracket and align the holes in the Dynolock bracket with the holes in the tail gate. Install 3 Torx screws.

8.    Make sure the DynoLock locking pin moves back and forth freely. Connect wires from harness to DynoLock.

9.    Reconnect threaded lock rods by snapping retainer into place. Snap the bezel back into place.

10.    Connect the long harness to the short harness installed in the tailgate by pressing the 2 pin waterproof connectors together.

11.    Run the harness under the vehicle as close to the driver’s side trim plate as possible. Use the tie wrap to secure the harness to the frame. Be sure to avoid moving or hot parts under the vehicle, i.e.. shocks, springs or muffler pipes.

12.    Remove the drivers side trim plate and drill a 7/16” hole in the floor and insert the enclosed grommet. Run the harness thru the grommet.

13.    Remove left side kick panel and locate the gray ( Lock) and tan ( Unlock) wires.

14.    Attach the 2 blue wire taps to each wire. Wrap the blue wire tap around each wire and squeeze close with pliers. Push the 2 pink male spade connectors attached to the end of the harness into the blue taps.

15.    Lock the doors with the driver’s side door lock switch. If the tailgate locks and the doors unlock at the same time, reverse the wires. Replace the kick panel and trim plate and the installation is complete.
